Will we enjoy having master bedroom on main floor or regret not being upstairs with young children? - master bedroom floor plans
We are finalizing the plans of the house, we want to build and I'm torn, to be on the ground or on the floor with my children to be. My fear is that the child sleep with a nightmare of a long road ahead of us find mom (including stairs) has! More ... My biggest fear is fire. But many teachers view the plans on the first floor are estimated for the resale value, and the idea of not taking the stairs when you are old, rock-climbing and I think that a bonus. Any advantages or disadvantages that I have not thought of? Comments on experience with this issue?

Your children will appreciate it away from you, and you can have a little more privacy. It is a great advantage.
It can be difficult, from their children until they are like 7 and 8. But after a little more noise. If you are on the ground floor, the music is louder and have sleepovers without worrying about friends.
I'm still alive and my parents had their bedroom on the first floor and we had rooms on the second floor. My brother and I were a little older than my brother and sister and younger children who come into our room when they had nightmares or angry.
I recommend many alarms and monitors, to take their fears. There are also fairly inexpensive video systems, many of them with sound, so you can actually see what happens, a real benefit for children who do not go to sleep and lose all the time night. But will also feel an intercom with the bark of its mandate to "go to bed! But they build the wall, so that children can not erase.

One might expect today, because you are worried about their children, but if you grow, you want to get away and have their privacy and they will too. Young people do not want on the same floor as the parents who want a certain freedom, even in his little room (sleeping in your head is your little world) Everyone will appreciate the intimacy over the long term. How old are your children? If you are under 5 years, then yes, you should plant in the same. Can you have more room to sleep at night?
I have my room upstairs with the kids and it works very well because both are under 6 years old, but in 4 years and I want more privacy, because it always so fast. My plan is to add a bedroom and my room be used as a playroom. This can work for you. Good luck!
