How to install an opener on a heavy *in-floor* door leading to the (wine) cellar in a historic home? - wine cellar photos
The house, 1800 My girlfriend is just wood floors. In an article, the floor is open to the stairs to the small storage room to reveal. Of course, all hinges / hardware are hidden, but it looks like a wooden floor, except for a wreath made of bronze used to lift the door. The problem is that the door (with the wood top) tall and strong, and the lifting of 70 pounds a brass ring with two fingers, not only painful, it's on the back is too hard. I got pictures and the exact dimensions, but I think 4 feet by 8 feet and 70 pounds. I searched the Internet for spring, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment. Some there are, but certainly not specifically designed for residential wooden door of country, where everything fit under must be marketed. I think there are not enough to make these barriers to make it worth opening a market for them. Thoughts? Thank you. Jason
